About Chris McGrath

I’m an intranet consultant living in Nelson, BC and working primarily in Vancouver, BC. My company is One Intranets Inc. I’m the co-creator of ThoughtFarmer, social software that powers enterprise intranets in Microsoft environments. I’ve been consulting on web and intranet projects since 1995 with a particular emphasis on interface design, information architecture and usability analysis.

I live with my wife, Gina, and our two children, Ana (age 4) and Sam (age 3). Gina is my best friend and the absolute bestest wife a man could ever find. Sam is a fluent conversationalist and does a near-perfect cartwheel. Ana is a math genius and may be the most hospitable four-year-old you’ve ever met. She’s missing an “N” in her name because she was conceived in Eastern Europe, where they never put an “N” in Ana.

Since moving to Nelson, I’ve taken up hockey again and am scheming to build an outdoor rink in my backyard. I enjoy distance running and am registered in a 12-person team for this year’s Hood to Coast. I love skiing, but this year I’ve thought about it much more than I’ve done it.

I like fine espresso. Every night, I go to bed thinking about how good my coffee is going to be tomorrow morning, especially with those Oso Negro beans and my Saeco semi-automatic. I’ve also acquired a taste for fine red wine and very dark chocolate.
